This module converts the electrical signals for powering the taillights from American to European specifications
Input signals:
- Right turn signal/Brake light
- Left turn signal/Brake light
Output signals:
- Right turn signal
- Left turn signal
- Brake light
This module is a universal "passive" device designed exclusively to physically split the electrical signals from the taillights. Its sole purpose is to split the combined American signal (brake light and turn signal on the same wire) into separate outputs according to the European standard (separate brake light and turn signal).
This component does not solve the problem on the latest-generation vehicles for the following reasons:
- Control via the Body Control Module (BCM):Recent vehicles manage all lighting and signals via the on-board Body Control Module (BCM). A simple universal analog splitter cannot communicate with the car’s electronics.
- Errors and Light Checks: If installed on a recent vehicle, the module will almost certainly cause errors on the dashboard (“faulty light”), rapid flashing (hyperflashing), or the control module to block the signal due to changes in power consumption.
- Need for Programming/Specific Modules: On the latest-generation vehicles, headlight conversion requires software reprogramming of the control module (via diagnostics or software) to configure separate outputs, or the use of specific electronic modules equipped with resistors and CAN-Bus management dedicated to that specific vehicle.
This product is recommended for older American vehicles or traditional, non-digital electrical systems.
